Wow! Kacey Ainsworth has revealed that friends have asked whether her new blonde cropped tresses are actually a wig, as she showed off her new look on Wednesday’s Lorraine
After Lorraine complimented her new hair Kacey revealed that she pushed to have the look when appearing in Sweeney Todd, to offer a harder and more modern taken on the iconic character.
She said: ‘We sat down and we made her. she’s normally played like a seaside landlady, they didn’t want that at all, I wanted her to be really hard nosed.
‘People thought ”keep it it looks amazing!” Some people think it looks like a wig!’
Looking good: The actress showed off her new look after dying her hair for a stage role. It is a far cry from her dark brunette tresses as Little Mo in EastEnders (right)
Amazing: Kacey look sensational in a plunging black lace blouse during the breakfast TV chat about her role as Cathy Keating in ITV’s Grantchester
Kacey’s look is already a far cry from her signature dark brunette tresses, which she famously sported playing Little Mo on EastEnders.
The actress was a guest on the show to chat about the new series of Grantchester, which sees her play DI Geordie Keating’s wife Cathy.
Viewers have seen Cathy take on various roles outside of just being a wife and homemaker, and Kacey told Lorraine it doesn’t sit well with Geordie, played by Robson Green.
She explained: ‘He definitely isn’t having it and she doesn’t’ like it, she keeps taking on more and more things, he’s really still wants her there putting his slippers down as they all do.
‘It’s brilliant the characters can evolve during a series, she started off being very domesticated, and it’s grown and grown because Robson and I love working together, it’s great that they can evolve and they can evolve with other characters.’
Confident: The star said viewers will see her character trying to take on a bigger role as a working woman, which was a rarity in the 1950s
TV star: Kacey also spoke about her decision to take a seven-year break from acting, so she could focus on raising her son Elwood after he was diagnosed with Asperger

‘I get to go film festivals around the world, it’s odd and wonderful and brilliant.’
Kacey also praised her former Grantchester co-star James Norton, who is heavily rumoured to be in contention as the next James Bond.
Asked whether he would be a good fit for the role, she said: ‘I think he’d be amazing, as Sidney he was beautiful and lovable, and then he was Tommy Lee Royce who was awful.
‘You’ve already seen him play something really dark. I think he’d bring something new to it.’
Proud: She said: ‘We consider it a kind of superpower for him and how autism and his dyspraxia can advance his life and positively enhance his life and where it can be advantageous’

The star also chatted about her decision to take a seven-year break from acting after her son Elwood, 12, was diagnosed with Asperger’s and dyspraxia at the age of six.
She explained: ‘It is extremely difficult to work, I had my daughter as well you have to split the time between the two, sometimes siblings can get lost.
‘We consider it a kind of superpower for him and how autism and his dyspraxia can advance his life and positively enhance his life and where it can be advantageous.
‘It’s because he can be so driven and so single minded and the mindset for him is really black white it’s good or bad it’s wrong or right. That focus allows him to be 100% committed. that’s what people say his commitment his drive.’
