Strictly Come Dancing 2019 final: Taylor Swift stuns in a gold ensemble to perform during last live show… as she sings hit Lover in reference to beau Joe Alwyn

Strictly Come Dancing kicked off its 2019 final in spectacular fashion on Saturday night, with Taylor Swift taking to the stage to perform.

The singer, 30, sang her hit song Lover while playing the piano, which appeared to be a reference to beau Joe Alwyn.  

AJ Pritchard, Dianne Buswell, Aljaž Škorjanec, Janette Manrara, Graziano di Prima and Luba Mushtuk took to the ballroom floor to dance as she performed. 

Taylor looked sensational in a black-and-gold jumpsuit that fit snugly on her slender frame as she sat in front of a piano.

The striped ensemble had a plunging neckline to show off a hint of her cleavage, while she she opted not to wear any accessories so that all attention remained on her ensemble.

She wore her golden locks swept back into a loose bun while she her fringe framed her face well, and she wore a slick of red lipstick to accentuate her pretty features. 

Taylor and Joe have purportedly been dating for more than two years, but the pair have made it a priority to keep their private life just that. 

Fans took to Twitter to gush about Taylor’s performance as they claimed she was ‘breathtaking and ‘incredible’ on the Strictly stage. 

One wrote in adoration: ‘Taylor’s performance of Lover on strictly tonight was incredible! I loved it’

While another added: ‘ALSO TAYLOR SWIFT ON STRICTLY IS EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER NEEDED #strictly’

One fan claimed they ‘cried’ while watching Taylor perform, while another gushed: ‘TayTay can stay!’ 

Taylor has described her latest work as ‘a love letter to love in all of its maddening, passionate, exciting, enchanting, horrific, tragic, wonderful glory.’ 

In January, Joe admitted that he doesn’t think his relationship with the singer should be seen as ‘strangely private’ as other people have interpreted it. 

Speaking in an interview in MR PORTER’s weekly digital magazine The Journal on Thursday, the actor, 27, explained: ‘I don’t think anyone you meet on the streets would just spill their guts out to you, and therefore why should I? 

‘And then that is defined as being “strangely private”. Fine. But I don’t think it is. I think it’s normal.’ 

In August, Taylor released her hotly-anticipated seventh album, Lover, and fans have wasted no time deciphering the meanings behind her candid lyrics. 

The singer has made a habit of discussing her feuds within her lyrics, and didn’t hold back with her latest offering. 

Lover sees Taylor sing ‘I’ve loved you for three summers now honey’, which fans believe was a reference to Joe.

Meanwhile the second track on the album, Cruel Summer, has also been a talking point for fans, who believe she is referencing thinking about her current beau whilst she was dating actor Tom. 

Taylor seems to imply that, though she is in a relationship with one person, she has feelings for another, singing: ‘I’m always waiting for you to be waiting below…. Devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes, What doesn’t kill me makes me want you more.’

Pointing to a new interest she says: ‘It’s new, the shape of your body, It’s blue, the feeling I’ve got’

She also hints at secret meetings, adding: ‘And I cried like a baby coming home from the bar, said I’m fine, but it wasn’t true. I don’t wanna keep secrets just to keep you.’

Taylor was first seen with current beau Joe within weeks of splitting with Tom, and fans were quick to claim these lyrics referenced their relationship.

London Boy is a love letter to the the singer’s British actor boyfriend Joe, so she enlisted the help of two British icons to sing along on the tune.
