Join volunteers at Seaside Heroes Park for the monthly Community Beautification Event on Saturday, December 14 from 8 to 11 a.m. All are welcome to get down and dirty and lend a hand cleaning, weeding, and dead heading – including groups or individuals who need community service hours. Even though the park is small, it’s a huge job to keep it looking good. As of January 2019, volunteers have put over 1300 work hours into the project. As always, the Body Glove yacht Disappearance will lead off the parade with this year’s Grand Marshall, Gary Crum, Chairman of the International Surf Festival. The boats will light up the night at 5:30. If you plan to observe from shore, you can do so from any number of vantage points in King Harbor, from the Redondo Beach Marina, Redondo Pier, Portofino Hotel and Marina/Sea Wall, Seaside Lagoon Sea Wall and several restaurants with harbor views.
