His devastating departure from The Bachelorette broke hearts across the nation on Thursday.
And despite filming ending months ago, it appears British heartthrob Ciarran Stott is still devastated that he had to leave the competition for Angie Kent’s affection.
Shortly after the show aired, Ciarran took to Instagram to say he had ‘an amazing connection’ with the Gogglebox starlet, confirming he simply ‘had to make the choice’ to leave.
‘The hardest decision I had to make’: Ciarran Stott (pictured) penned an emotional social media message following his shock departure from the show
‘So as you all now know I’m no longer a part of the show or in the race for Angie’s heart!’ he wrote.
Ciarran pulled out of the competition following the passing of his beloved grandma, who he had previously called his ‘rock’ when describing her to Angie.
‘Due to unforeseen family reasons I had to make the choice of leaving,’ he added. ‘This was by far the hardest decision I had to make on here.
‘Knowing that I had an amazing connection with Angie and then having to tell her I had to leave was just gut wrenching’ Ciarran admitted his devastation at pulling out of the race to win Angie Kent’s (right) heart
‘Knowing that I had an amazing connection with Angie and then having to tell her I had to leave was just gut-wrenching. She is an amazing woman and is full of love to give and can never wipe that big smile off her face!’
He continued: ‘Thank you for letting me be apart of this experience on your quest (not journey) to find a man you can hopefully say “I love you” too.
‘I wish Angie all the best for the rest of the show and now all the lads in there finally have a chance now I’m not longer in the race haha! Big love to you all! @angiekent_ @bacheloretteau.’

‘I feel like I should have gritted my teeth,’ he said, ‘only a few more weeks and I could have been the number one.
