Charlie Weir, from Waringstown, Co Down, said he fears that agriculture in Northern Ireland will be “decimated” if the UK leaves the EU without a deal. Speaking to the BBC, he also said he supports the backstop for Northern Ireland, describing it as “the best of both worlds”. Mr Weir was featured in the party election broadcast before the Westminster election in 2017.
