It looks like it is going to be a busy week of deals as Super League clubs try and get their business done before Friday’s transfer deadline.
Speaking of the Black and Whites, plenty of their players are in demand too, leaving FC coach Lee Radford with a decision to make.
We’ll have the latest transfer news throughout the day, including a possible arrival today at Rovers. We’ll also have the latest updates and reaction from across the game as we approach the final five games of the regular season.
You can follow it all in our live blog below.
Trout to Rovers
As we stated earlier, there are reports today that Hull KR have signed Dewsbury Rams forward Kyle Trout.
The 28-year-old forward was being pursued by Rovers for next season, but it now looks like the club have managed to get a deal done to bring him to the club early to aid their relegation fight.
Able to play in the front or back row, Trout will give KR coach Tony Smith more options for the run-in.
KR player ratings
Adam Quinlan: Took his try well and ran well with the ball throughout, but he could have done more to prevent Jordan Rankin from scoring. 7
Craig Hall: Consistently stepped inside and showed for the ball and once again he was one of those that made KR tick when they were in the ascendancy. 7
Jimmy Keinhorst : The centre ran the ball well but couldn’t really make a sizeable imprint on the game. 6
Ben Crooks: Stepping inside to centre, Crooks was at the beating heart of KR’s win over Castleford. It was his break that set up Quinlan’s try in the first half before scoring two tries to revive the lifeless Robins in the second half. 8
Radford’s phone red hot
Lee Radford isn’t expecting anyone to leave Hull FC in the final days of the transfer window.
Clubs in every division have until Friday, August 9 to make any last-minute movements in the market in order to strengthen their credentials in their respective battles in the final five games of the season.
The Black and Whites allowed Dean Hadley and Jez Litten to join Hull KR early last week, with the pair signing three-year deals at Craven Park ahead of next season.
Hull KR Trout fishing?
Hull KR have signed Dewsbury Rams forward Kyle Trout, report Mathew Shaw and Aaron Bower in today’s League Express.
We’ll have more on this soon.
Warriors statement on Satae
Warriors general manager football Brian Smith said;
We’ve reluctantly agreed to Chris’ request for an early release,
He was contracted until 2021 but he has received an opportunity in England for the rest of this season and then another four years. It gives Chris and his family tremendous security and we wouldn’t want to stand in his way.
He has been really impressive for our Canterbury Cup side but has had limited chances to play for the NRL side due to the competition for places.
We’re really happy for Chris, we thank him for everything he has done for the club and we wish him all the best for the future.
Tevita Satae on way to FC?
Hull FC target Tevita Chris Satae has been released by New Zealand Warriors.
The Warriors have confirmed the news this morning, saying they have reluctantly agreed to release the player to allow him to take up a four-year deal in England, as well as an option to finish the season in Super League.
As previously reported by Hull Live, we understand FC have held talks with the 26-year-old, so can we expect him at Hull this week?
