Drivers have been warned of delays when a section of a major road closes for improvement works this weekend. The northbound lane of Blackbird Road between its junctions with Buckminster Road and Anstey Lane will be closed to traffic as part of ongoing road improvement works. The southbound lane will remain open as normal, Leicester City Council said. Work is continuing to remodel the junctions of Ravensbridge Drive at the A6 St Margaret’s Way and at Blackbird Road/Anstey Lane, as part of a larger project improving road links into that part of the city. The weekend closure is required to allow the stretch of road to be built up and resurfaced. Footpath improvements will also be carried out, the council said. The council said: “Local signposted diversions will be in place.
