One male had to be freed from their vehicle after an accident in an East Staffordshire village.
Firefighters from Burton and Abbots Bromley were the scene of the accident involving one car at the junction of the A515 and Forest road in Draycott in the Clay.
One man was freed from a 4X4 vehicle, with Forest Road being closed off while the incident was dealt with.
Firefighters were called at 8.24am this morning, Tuesday, June 18, and traffic delays in the area were reported.
According to traffic and travel website Inrix, this is caused delays from A515 at Six Roads End to Marchington Cliff.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service urged drivers to avoid the area if possible while firefighters deal with the accident.

‘This isn’t the first accident and certainly won’t be the last until something is done’
Another motorist who regularly uses the route said: “For as long as I can remember Six Lanes End has been a particularly bad junction.
“This isn’t the first accident and certainly won’t be the last until something is done.
“I think it should be an island.
“How many accidents will it take for the council to step up and make the changes needed.”
Traffic coping well
Inrix states that traffic is currently coping well on all surrounding routes following the road closure.
Driver phoning up work to say they are stuck
Lorry driver Paul Humphrey said: “It’s a bad junction really, probably needs more speed cameras.
“I’ve had to phone up and let them know I’m not going anywhere.”

Neil Briggs said: “These accidents have a knock on effect.
“Lorry drivers are losing time stuck here for four hours.”

Nick Powles added: “I see near misses every week, you’re looking at 50-60 near misses a day.
“I reckon over the last 20 years 60-70 people have died.”
Call for traffic lights
Lorry driver Nick Powles said: “Traffic lights need to be here, I’ve been driving round here for 30 years and it’s always been like this.
“It’s really dark at night, they need to put some lights up.
“The council should cut back the hedges so you can see who’s coming.”
Officers spray paint the road
Police officers at the scene are now spray painting the road to mark the skid marks.
Ambulance called to overturned car
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Serivce said they were called to the junction at 8.05am to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car that had overturned.
One ambulance attended, with one paramedic officer and a critical care officer from Midlands Air Ambulance.
The spokesman said: “We treated one man who had suffered serious injuries. He was extricated from the vehicle with help from the fire service before he was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.”
‘Speed cameras are not doing anything’
Lorry driver Lee Bowles said: “Speed cameras not doing anything, they need moving nearer to slow you down as you come up to the junction.”
79-year-old man sustained serious injuries
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “Officers have closed the A515 in both directions near to Draycott-in-the-Clay due to a serious road traffic collision which happened at around 8am this morning, June 18.
“The collision involved a VW Polo and Land Rover Discovery. A 79 year-old man who was a passenger in one of the vehicles sustained serious injuries to his leg, head and chest.
“He has been taken by ambulance to Royal Stoke University Hospital.
“The road will remain closed while colleagues from Highways clean oil from the road surface.”
‘It’s a disaster waiting to happen’
Tanker driver Neil Briggs said: “It is dangerous.
“It’s hard to see up and down the road.
“Should have a round about or traffic lights or something.
“It’s a disaster waiting to happen at the end of the day.”

Car went through hedgerow
Our reporter at the scene said it looks like the car went through a hedgerow and into a property.
‘It is impossible to predict where drivers are going even if they are indicating’
One motorist, who uses the junction every day, said: “I think something needs to be done about the junction because it is impossible to predict where people are going even if they are indicating.
“There are two roads you can go down turning left and two going right off the main road.
“This is really concerning news this morning. I hope the man makes a full recovery.
“There has been so many accidents at this junction over the years.”
