The brother-in-law of one of the men seriously injured in a fatal crash has described a Snapchat video taken of the driver moments before the accident as an act of stupidity.
Bandmates Dennis Sales, 44, and Ken Morrow, 61, were travelling home from a gig when a car veered into their path in Berkshire Park in western Sydney early Sunday.
The driver of the other car, Shania McNeill, 21, died in the head-on crash, moments after she was captured on a Snapchat video driving in the middle of two lanes while singing to loud music.
Both men suffered serious injuries and will be forced to spend extended time off work to recover.

Mr Morrow suffered a shattered wrist while Mr Sales remains in intensive care with extensive internal injuries.
He underwent a second round of major surgery on Tuesday.
Both of the men’s families have slammed the Snapchat video of Ms McNeill taken moments prior to the horrific crash.
‘As I’ve said to everyone, I’ve seen the video over and over and I can’t just make sense of the stupidity I’ve watched in that video,’ Mr Morrow’s brother-in-law David Lee told told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday night.
‘I hope young people will watch that video and take note of how it can end up. It’s turned the lives of our families upside down. Getting behind the wheel is not a game. Young people need to realise a car is a weapon and they need to respect it.’
Ken Morrow (pictured) was also seriously injured in the crash and will spend time off work
The Snapchat video was taken throughout the night which begins with Shania dancing and mucking around with two friends in a bathroom several hours earlier.
The Snapchat video story then cuts to a clip of the girls in Shania’s car where she is seen taking swigs from a can while the vehicle is parked.
Later she is seen back behind the wheel driving in the middle of two lanes while singing along to loud music.
At the end of the clip, the friend taking the video is heard screaming while Shania is seen driving on the opposite side of the road with an oncoming car’s headlights beaming in her direction.
Mr Sales has woken from an induced coma but still needs a ventilator to help him breathe.

‘He is still very, very sick and will spend weeks in hospital,’ Mr Lee told Daily Mail Australia.
‘Both families are doing tough and are finding it very hard to get their heads around what happened. There are no winners in what has happened.’
Mr Sales’ wife and three children have been at his hospital bedside since the crash.
‘The circumstances behind it are pretty awful,’ eldest son Mitchell, 18, told 10 News First.
‘But what’s happened has happened, and I can’t focus on being angry, I’ve got to focus on being there for my dad and being supportive.’
Daughter Paige 14, added: ’I just wish it never happened. I hope people think before they do stuff and see the consequences of their actions. And this could be one of them if they’re doing what she was doing.’

Mr Lee said his brother-in law Ken has been discharged from hospital but remains in a bad way and is still traumatised.
‘The only thing he can recall from the crash is the headlights from the other car heading straight towards him,’ Mr Lee told Daily Mail Australia.
‘He can’t remember anything after that, not even the impact of the crash. There was nowhere else for him to turn to or go.’
Ms McNeill’s friends, Hazel Wildman, 23, and fellow passenger Faeda Hunter, 20, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash.
The pair have come under fire after they shared a selfie of themselves in hospital wearing neck braces and hooked up to medical machines a day after the tragedy.

‘It’s appalling and disrespectful to not only my family but also to Dennis’ family,’ Mr Lee told Daily Mail Australia.
‘They need to wake up and take a long hard look at themselves. They also need to apologise for taking that selfie.’
He said it was too early to say whether either family will consider legal action.
He was also reluctant to comment on whether Hazel and Faeda should face charges.
‘I’ll leave that for the police to decide whether it’s warranted,’ Mr Lee said.
‘We’ve now got to sit back and let the justice system take its course.’

The men were part of band Rogue Syndicate, where Dennis is the lead singer while Ken plays keyboard.
They were on their way home from a gig at Riverstone RSL when their lives were changed forever.
The close-knit group of fellow musicians Mr Sales and Mr Morrow are part of have set up a GoFund Me page to raise funds to help relieve the financial burden on both families in the months ahead.

The page has raised more than $10,000 within a day.
There are also plans to hold a concert benefit night in the coming months.
‘Ken is self-employed and will be off work for a long time, while Dennis is a contractor with the NBN and will probably lose his contract by the time he gets out of hospital,’ Mr Lee told Daily Mail Australia.
‘They will feel the long term physical, psychological and financial impacts for years and years to come. Ken is a talented keyboard player and there’s a chance he may never play again because of his shattered wrist.’
Mr Lee’s daughter Rebecca also took to social media on Wednesday to express her anger.
‘I’m sure you’ve all seen on the news today with the story about the 21-year-old girl and friends who were playing ‘chicken’ with cars and purposely driving into incoming traffic the other night,’ she wrote.
‘That reckless and dangerous behaviour resulted in a head on collision with two innocent men. These are the innocent men – one of them is my uncle.’
Throughout the video, Shania is filmed dancing and singing to music behind the wheel

Police are investigating whether Ms McNeill was ‘playing chicken’ with oncoming traffic moments before the fatal smash.
They are also looking into whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Commander Assistant Commissioner Michael Corbody told reporters it is unclear how long after the video was taken that Shania crashed.
‘The most disturbing thing with the video is her family and parents will have to look at that video now,’ he said.
‘The fact it’s gone online, the fact they have to live with that, is disturbing.’
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page set up by Shania’s aunt has raised more than $13,000 within 24 hours, which will go towards funeral costs and ensuring her Queensland-based parents and young siblings can travel to Sydney for the funeral.
The page described Shania as ‘one of a kind ‘ whose beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
