Life can get a bit stressful being a grown up but there’s a secret getaway where you can spend a weekend acting like a big kid again. These treetop houses are built high up in branches, where you can sleep amongst the birds. They are set within a hidden valley surrounded by beautiful walking trails and wobbly bridges, with red kites soaring overhead. Despite being in the treetops, the houses are cosy enough to stay in all year round, but you will need to prepare for a digital detox as there no electricity. Instead the owners say nights in the treehouses are “romantic and peaceful” with lanterns and tea lights used to illuminate the rooms. The treehouses are a two hour drive from Liverpool, in Machynlleth, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. Stays are £379 for couples or £399 for families, for two nights.
