Theme park lovers and thrill-seekers are in for a treat later this week when a popular funfair returns to Stoke-on-Trent. Billed as ‘Europe’s largest mobile theme park’, Funderpark is coming to Longport on Thursday (February 14) for ten days – just in time for half term. It will open at the former McGuinness’ scrapyard site in Porthill Road, Longport. Funderpark, operated by city-based Stanworths Fun Fairs, has been a regular visitor to Stoke-on-Trent since well-known scrap firm F McGuinness & Sons locked up the site for the final time in July 2016 with Dave McGuinness Jr, the grandson of business founder Fred McGuinness, going on to start a new venture in Cobridge . The fair will open on Thursday evening and will run until Sunday, February 24. Entry – which includes unlimited riding – is £4.99 for people under 1.2m and £9.99 for those over. The fair will be open from 5pm until 9pm on Thursday and Friday. From Saturday, February 16 until February 24 opening times are 1pm to 9pm.
