A right-wing think tank invited a paedophile on to a boat party with underage revellers. Richard Neate, who kept indecent images of kids as young as six, joined 16 to 30-year-olds on a trip run by the Tory-leaning Adam Smith Institute. It was just nine months after he was sentenced and ordered not to have contact with under-18s. But he still got an invitation from the ASI for a cruise past Parliament. One partygoer slammed the decision to invite Neate, 28, when one of her own friends was barred for criticising the libertarian group. She said: “There were under-18s on the boat. It’s 2018 and a think tank lets men get away with being literally sex offenders, but not women who express dissatisfaction.” Neate was given a three-year community order, 150 hours of unpaid work and was put on the sex offenders register for having more than 200 videos and images on his computers. One video showed a man having sex with a dog. Cambridge Crown Court heard Neate had been selling adult porn and it spiralled into him searching the dark web for child porn. He admitted a sexual interest in teens of about 15. The influential ASI backs economic freedoms and created The Next Generation group to stimulate debate among the 16 to 30 age group.
