A bus company is offering FREE travel this Sunday to serving and ex-service armed forces men and women who are attending Remembrance Sunday events. First Potteries are offering the service to military personnel wearing uniforms of the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Marines, Royal Air Force and any associated cadet force. And the company’s staff who have previously served in the forces are also being encouraged to support the event – by wearing their military attire on Sunday whilst driving the buses. Nigel Eggleton, Managing Director for First Potteries said:” This is an important day for many people who want to remember family, friends and others who have been lost in military service. “I am pleased to be supporting ‘Remembrance Sunday’ on this 100 anniversary and want to make it as easy as possible for people to attend the events organised across the county.” This year marks the 100 anniversary of Armistice and the end of the First World War, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare.
