Victoria Beckham was “never actually asked” to join the Spice Girls on tour, they just “presumed” she wouldn’t want to. Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel B and Mel C delighted fans on Monday with the news that they were reuniting for a six-date UK tour next year. But Baby, Sporty, Ginger and Scary won’t be joined by Posh – a.k.a. Beckham – after the fashion designer declared her Spice Girl days over. Mel C has now revealed that Beckham pointed out that she was never invited to reunite. Speaking to Jonathan Ross she said: “Do you know what is actually quite funny? I saw Victoria recently and obviously we’ve all been in contact. “She is still very much a part of the Spice Girls, she really supports us and we really support her. “But she did raise the point that she was never actually asked. We just presumed.” But Bunton claimed they did ask Beckham but that she was “busy with her fashion and she’s moved on”, adding that they are a band on and off the stage who support each other in decisions. Horner added: “I spoke to her two days ago, before the announcement and she has said it for years that she just doesn’t want to do it anymore, so we knew that. “No [she didn’t enjoy performing] and you don’t want to make somebody do something they don’t want to do.” The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturday November 10 at 10.35pm on ITV.
