Prime Minister Charlot Salwai returned from his official trip abroad yesterday afternoon. With the termination of two senior state ministers, another two Members of Parliament (MPs) are expected to be appointed today as speculation is rife that over 20 Members of Parliament (MPs) have signed a Motion of No Confidence in the Prime Minister. However, as at 4.30pm yesterday, the office of the Clerk of Parliament said it has not received any Motion of No Confidence. It remains to be seen if the Motion of No Confidence against PM Salwai will eventuate, how many MPs are backing the alleged Motion and the reasons for the purported motion. The public is also questioning the reasons for the termination of the former two state ministers. Members of the public have called the Daily Post, asking to know the grounds of termination for the two former state ministers. “We find it hard to believe our eyes as we read today (yesterday) the news of the two state ministers terminated. “We want the government to tell us or give us reasons why they terminated former Minister Jotham Napat, and former Minister Matai Seremiah,” one caller to the Daily Post. If the alleged Motion of No Confidence eventuates, with over 20 signatures as claimed, then it could mean that some government backbenchers are backing the Motion of No confidence. But again, only time will tell.
