A 60-year-old pedestrian has died after a car crash in East Molesey in the early hours of Saturday morning (November 10). Metropolitan Police, along with the London Ambulance Service, were called out to Hampton Court Road, near the Esso garage, at around 12.25am following reports of a vehicle in a collision with a pedestrian. The Met said: “A 60-year-old man was discovered suffering from serious injuries. Sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene. “His next of kin have been informed. Formal identification awaits.” Police said at this early stage they are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened. The Met said a 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving and possession of class-B drugs. Officers believe that there may have been a female passenger travelling in the vehicle at the time of the incident who fled the scene. Enquiries are ongoing to trace her identity and whereabouts.
