Around 50 people trying to get to Hull station have been left “stranded” at Peterborough. One woman, who did not want to be named, said she and around 50 other people have been left “freezing” outside the station in Peterborough waiting for a coach after Hull Trains cancelled its direct services between Hull and London Kings Cross. According to the Hull Trains website, services between Hull and London Kings Cross have been cancelled due to “more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time”. The woman, who says she booked her tickets to London over the phone around eight weeks ago, says she was told to expect a coach to pick passengers up from Peterborough at 7.30pm this evening – however the coach has still not arrived. Hull Trains has been contacted for comment. We will be bringing you updates as we get them in the live blog below. 20:46 When the trains were cancelled Earlier this evening HUll Trains announced on Twitter it had cancelled the 6.30pm service from London to Hull, urging passengers to catch a Great Northern service for Doncaster before returning to the city on a coach.
