There were plenty of goals around the South Holland teams’ games this afternoon. It was a nine-goal thriller for Pinchbeck United at Newport Pagnell, but unfortunately, the Knights scored only three of them. They were 3-1 up in the first half before the Swans pulled it back to 3-3 at half time, before netting another three in the second half. There was also plenty of goals – this time at the right end – as Deeping Rangers defeated bottom club Rothwell Corinthians 4-1. Skipper David Burton-Jones put the Clarets ahead after 38 minutes via a second rebound from a penalty after Dan Jarvis had been brought down. Danny Durkin added the second on the stroke of half-time. Dan Schiavi netted the third after 62 minutes and Sam Mooney had one disallowed before striking a corker on 90 minutes to make it 4-0. Club president Dennis Sparrow performed the Last Post before Holbeach United’s rather firey encounter with Harborough Town. Josh Ford was the muddy match-winner – his 69th minute strike the difference between the sides at the whistle. Spalding United’s recent upturn in fortunes came to a crushing end at the Sir Halley Stewart playing field, as they went down 3-0 to Lincoln United with a hat-trick from Rob Norris.
