The people living on this Middlesbrough street certainly won’t forget. Mum Corrie Lawson, 24, has been busy decorating her Berwick Hills home with poppies ahead of Remembrance Sunday. Corrie, who had help from son Colby Jaie, three, explained how they used paper plates, paint, string and staples for the colourful display. Writing on Facebook, Corrie said: “People decorate their house for Halloween which is American, but rarely decorate it for Remembrance Day which is British? “So here in Berwick Hills me and my little boy have spent days making poppies and decorated our house to remember the people who have sadly fallen for our country. “We Thank You! Without your sacrifice my family wouldn’t have the life they do today.” The country will pause to reflect on Sunday as services are held to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.
