Mark Robins has made three changes to his Coventry City team to face Walsall in the first round of the FA Cup. In comes Dominic Hyam and Brandon Mason to the back four in place of the injured Tom Davies – out with a slight groin strain – and the rested Junior Brown, who drops to the bench, while teenager Jordon Thompson retains his place at right-back ahead of Jack Grimmer as Dujon Sterling remains out with injury. The other change is Jordan Shipley making a return to the starting line-up on the left, which means former Waslall loan striker Jordy Hiwula pushes up front alongside Jonson Clarke-Harris on a day when Conor Chaplin drops out to be among the substitutes. Elsewhere, Luke Thomas retains his place in the side after being granted permission by his parent club Derby County to play in the competition, as does Abu Ogogo who partners skipper Michael Doyle in the middle of the park on a day when Tom Bayliss has recovered from the hip problem that forced him to miss last week’s match, but takes a place on the bench. Another former Saddlers’ striker Amadou Bakayoko is among the attacking options on the bench, along with Jodi Jones and Chaplin. City: Lee Burge; Jordon Thompson, Jordon Willis, Dom Hyam, Brandon Mason; Luke Thomas, Abu Ogogo, Michael Doyle, Jordan Shipley; Jonson Clarke-Harris, Jordy Hiwula. Substitutes: Liam O’Brien (GK), Jack Grimmer, Junior Brown, Jodi Jones, Conor Chaplin, Amadou Bakayoko, Tom Bayliss.
