Plymouth Argyle under-23s drew 0-0 away to Bristol City in their second group game in the Premier League Cup. The game was played o a rain-soaked pitch at the South Gloucestershire and Stroud College (WISE Campus) in Filton on Friday night. Argyle included six professionals in their starting line-up, along with five apprentices. One of the professionals on duty was goalkeeper Michael Cooper, who made a couple of excellent saves in the first half. Argyle had also drawn 0-0 with Derby County at Home Park in their opening group game on October 4. The closest the young Pilgrims came to breaking the deadlock against Bristol City was shortly after the hour mark. That was when a free-kick from Alex Battle was superby saved by the Robins’ Alhaji Sesay. Argyle’s third group game in the Premier League Cup will be away to Aston Villa on November 30.
