The son of seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher has won the Formula 3 European title 19-year-old Mick Schumacher sealed his crown after the second race of the day in Hockenheim on Saturday. Schumacher Jnr finished second to Motopark’s Juri Vips with the result now leaving his lead in the championship unassailable The Prema Theodore driver had failed to score any points in the first race of the day following a collision, but his runner-up spot was enough in the second race as title rival Dan Ticktum came home in seventh. Schumacher has won eight races this season, and came into the event with a 49-point advantage. He said after the event: “I am absolutely delighted. “What this team has achieved over the last year is unbelievable.” Schumachers win comes a year after he finished 12th in his debut season in the sport.
