Member of Parliament for Epi, Isaac Tongoliliu, has joined the Vanua’aku Pati (VP). MP Tongoliliu made this effective through a custom ceremony at Freshwota 2 in Port Vila on Friday afternoon. The ceremony began with the Interim President of VP, Joe Natuman, saying sorry to MP Tongoliliu because his name had gone before the executive to contest the 2016 general election but another candidate was chosen, who did not win. Tongoliliu was welcomed into VP by Natuman and witnessed by members of the VP executive as well members of parliament and supporters. The ceremony was done in line with the political party’s policy of calling its former members to return. Tongoliliu’s move means the party has filled the gap left after it lost an MP on Tanna in the recent by-election.
