Crowds of shoppers were evacuated after a huge fire broke out at a B&M. Emergency services were called to the blaze in the storage yard at the B&M outlet in the Clifton Moor retail park in York, Yorkshire. As dozens of fire fighters fought to get the flames under control loud bangs could be heard coming from inside the shop. The busy A1237 road has been closed between Wigginton and Clifton Moor as clouds of black smoke create dangerous conditions for drivers, North Yorkshire Police said. So far there are no reported casualties. Residents have been advised to stay indoors and close their windows as smoke drifts across the city. It is believed that the fire broke out in the building’s outside storage area.
