Three teenagers have been arrested after a 28-year-old man was stabbed in the back during a street disturbance involving up to 20 people. The trio were arrested yesterday – a week after the trouble broke out near the Britannia pub, in Bradwell Lane, at around 11pm on September 14. The victim had been taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital following the incident, but was discharged last weekend. Police have seized several knives and have also issued a Section 35 dispersal notice for the Newcastle area, which gives officers the power to separate groups involved in anti-social-behaviour. Detective Dave Stubbs said: “Two males, aged 17, and a man, aged 19, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding and violent disorder following a stabbing in Bradwell last Friday. “A couple of knives have been seized and a Section 35 dispersal notice has been authorised by the Newcastle local policing team commander to prevent further issues.” The three teens remain in custody today for questioning.
