A person had to be cut free from a vehicle after a crash closed a major route in Yate. Commuters face huge delays this evening after emergency services have shut Station Road while they deal with the smash. Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free one person from the wreckage after the collision. Two casualties were then walked to an ambulance by firefighters. A spokesman for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 5:45pm. Two fire engines from Yate attended the two-vehicle collision. “One person was freed using hydraulic cutting equipment and both casualties were walked to the ambulance by firefighters.” Travel site Inrix is reporting severe delays in the area. It says: “Reports of A432 Station Road in both directions blocked, very slow traffic due to incident between Cranleigh Court Road and Westerleigh Road.
