After a surprise defeat the previous Sunday, Cuckney were forced to settle for the better of a drawn NPL match at Papplewick Hall. The Bears were indebted to a third-wicket stand of 154 between James Hawley (68) and Tom Ullyott (81) as they were bowled out for 264 in the last over. Hawley hit seven fours and Ullyott 10 boundaries. Seven Cuckney batsmen reached double figures, but wickets tumbled in the later stages in a chase for quick runs. Papplewick & Linby, openers Sam Ogrizovic and James Taylor put on 92 for the first wicket, but the home side found it difficult to score off a miserly Cuckney attack, closing on 169 for five. Hawley and Jake Tong each claimed a brace of wickets for Cuckney.
