POLITICS 06/26/2018 11:44 am ET Updated 18 minutes ago The Supreme Court approved Trump’s controversial immigration policy that blocked people from certain Muslim-majority nations from entering the U.S. By Sara Boboltz President Donald Trump on Tuesday called the U.S. Supreme Court’s 5-4 ruling in favor of his administration’s travel ban “a tremendous victory for the American People and the Constitution.” “The Supreme Court has upheld the clear authority of the President to defend the national security of the United States,” the White House said in a statement. “In this era of widespread terrorism and extremist movements bent on harming innocent civilians, we must properly vet those coming into our country.” “This ruling is also a moment of profound vindication following months of hysterical commentary from the media and Democratic politicians who refuse to do what it takes to secure our border and our country,” the statement continued.
