A plane crashed and broke in HALF after skidding off a runway at an airport in Honduras. Shocking pictures from the scene in the capital, Tegucigalpa, show the badly damaged Gulfstream jet lying in two pieces. The private jet is believed to have overshot the runway while trying to land at Toncontin International Airport. Incredibly, all passengers and crew onboard the aircraft survived the crash, authorities say. Residents attempted to prevent a fire at the scene by spraying the aircraft with hand-held fire extinguishers. Part of the wreckage appears to lie across the street. Motorists stopped to get a look at the crash site from a busy neighbouring road. The flight had originated in Austin, Texas, and was registered to a private company. At least six US passengers were injured in the crash. Tegucigalpa is considered one of the southern hemisphere’s most difficult approaches, due to its proximity to mountain tops and nearby residential homes.
