England goalkeeper Joe Hart will return to the West Ham United side against his former club Shrewsbury Town on Sunday, as manager David Moyes goes back to the scene of one of his “darkest nights” in football. Hart, who was born in Shrewsbury and started his career at his hometown club, will make only his second appearance since November as Moyes looks to avoid a repeat of the shock FA Cup defeat he suffered as Everton manager against Shrewsbury in 2003. Everton were undone by two goals from Shrewsbury captain Nigel Jemson in that 2-1 loss in the third round, and Moyes, who also played for the Shrews, said the defeat ranks as one of his lowest moments in football. “It was certainly one of the darkest nights,” he said. “When I talk about my disappointments in football, it was when I lost at Shrewsbury with Everton a long, long time ago.” Moyes, however, did guide Sunderland to victory against Shrewsbury in the League Cup at the start of last season, and said he has “great memories” of his time at the club, where he made 108 appearances between 1987 and 1990. “I went there and there were quite a… Read full this story
