GENEVA (Sputnik) — Amid the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria’s Eastern Ghouta, where one of the four Syrian de-escalation zones is located, humanitarian organizations could not confirm media reports of mass starvation, while Russia has suggested there is an anti-Damascus media campaign going on similar to the one done during the eastern Aleppo offensive. Western and Arab media have been releasing images of dying children, claiming that the responsibility lies with the Syrian army who was intentionally starving 400,000 local residents.
