Met Eireann reckon temperatures will reach a balmy 19C – but showers will become widespread this evening.
A forecaster said: “Mostly dry this morning, with some sunny spells and just a few isolated showers.
“Cloudy conditions, with outbreaks of rain, will extend gradually from the southwest during the afternoon and evening, reaching all parts by early tonight.
“The rain will turn heavy in places later, with a risk of thunder, mainly in western coastal areas.
Maximum temperatures 16 to 19C.
“Winds will be light, variable at first but will freshen from the south or southeast later this afternoon.”
And the weather is not going to get any better as heavy showers are also expected tomorrow.
They added: “Monday morning will be cloudy and wet, with outbreaks of rain, heavy in places.
“Brighter conditions, with scattered showers, will move gradually in across parts of the west later, but there will be further outbreaks of rain elsewhere, with some heavy bursts and a risk of thunder.

Tuesday will be another wet and warm day with mercury rising to 19C.
Met Eireann continued: “A weak ridge of high pressure will move over the country on Tuesday bringing a predominantly dry day with bright spells and just a few passing light showers.
“Top temperatures will range 16 to 19C in moderate west or southwest winds.
“A fairly deep low pressure system will pass to our northwest on Wednesday with its associated frontal rain-bands expected to spread eastwards across the country during the course of the day.
“It looks set to be a breezy day with fresh to strong south or southwest winds.”
