AFTER two evictions, some temporary celebrity guests, a removal and two shock walk-outs, Big Brother hasn’t failed to entertain.
Big Brother returned on June 5 at 8.30pm on Channel 5 – the SAME day as the new series of Love Island, and tonight’s episode (June 20) starts at 10pm.
On weeknights, the reality show generally airs at 10:00pm, lasting for an hour, with spin-off show Big Brother’s Bit on the Side following straight after.
However, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the fun kicks off at 9.00pm, with the live eviction shows airing on Friday nights.
This year’s series launched on June 5, with the civilian series of Big Brother typically lasting around two months.
Last year’s series on Channel 5 was the shortest in Big Brother history, lasting just 50 days.
This year the series expected to run for about the same length of time, though nothing is set in stone yet.
Big Brother revealed the first batch of housemates ahead of the first episode, with the rest of the lineup revealed on launch night.
Alongside some reality TV rejects there are plenty of new faces you may never have seen before.
KAYLEIGH MORRIS – REMOVED FROM THE HOUSE
The pretty brunette is 28, from Wales and works as a Clothing Concession Manager, but you may recognise her from Ex on The Beach.
She starred on last year’s show and is best known for dating Chloe Khan’s ex boyfriend, Ashley Cain.
Kayleigh was removed from the house after an explosive argument with Chanelle, which saw her make repeated threats of violence – something that Big Brother will not tolerate.
Lotan Carter is 28, single and from Essex. He’s part of male dance troupe, Dreamboys – a talent he may have inherited from his uncle, famous choreographer Louis Spence.
IMRAN JAVEED and SUKHVINDER JAVEED – EVICTED AND QUIT
The pair met as children, later fell in love and married at the tender age of 17.
Imran was the second housemate to be evicted and in a shock move, Sukhvinder left with him.
HANNAH AGBOOLA and DEBORAH AGBOOLA
Deborah is a single mum and younger sister Hannah is the reigning Miss Nigeria UK.
Chanelle McLeary, 24, describes herself as a UK-based lingerie, commercial and fashion model.
After appearing on ITV’s Take Me Out she was approached by Zoo Magazine to do a spread for them.
23-year-old Ellie Young starred on ITV reality show Ibiza Weekender.
She reportedly turned down a place on Love Island, starting on the exact same day as the current series of BB.
Kieran Lee, 24, has also appeared on Ex on the Beach where his Lothario ways ruffled more than a few feathers among the girls.
He describes himself as a ‘serial cheater’ and once rang his mum accidentally whilst having sex.
Mum-of-two Rebecca Jane is a self-made entrepreneur and author who runs The Lady Detective Agency – an international female run investigation company.
Rebecca, 32, set up the firm in 2009 after her ex-husband cheated on her with at least six women when she was pregnant.
ARTHUR FULFORD – LEFT THE SHOW
Arthur Fulford, 24, appeared alongside his family in the reality TV show, The F***ing Fulfords and Life is Toff.
His father is Lord Francis Fulford, and is one of four Fulford children.
After a week in the house, it was announced that Arthur was leaving the show and would not be returning.
MANDY LONGWORTH (EVICTED) AND CHARLOTTE KEYS
The pair apparently have an ‘inseparable’ mother-daughter relationship – the same boy apparently once hit on both of them – but this will be tested to the limit in the house.
Mandy was the first housemate to be evicted after being chosen by people’s housemate Tom.
Raphael Korine is a 22-year-old psychology student, who revealed he wants to “pull the strings” in the house and create drama, but keep out of trouble himself.
“Raph”, who is half-American and half-Japanese, admits to having cheated on every partner he’s ever had, which might explain why he’s now single.
Fun-loving Joe Quaranta, 55, is a nightclub owner who travels the world experiencing the finer things in life.
He may be up for a party, but it won’t extend to womanising – Joe has a girlfriend 26 years his junior.
In a launch night twist, the public chose their own “people’s housemate” from four wannabes – and they voted for Welsh hunk Tom Barber, 21.
The cheeky chappy will be given special privileges as “the eyes of the public”, and will be fed information by fellow housemates to cause trouble.
Emma Willis has returned to her hosting duties for the 18th series of Big Brother.
Emma’s been presenting the main show since 2013.
Rylan Clark-Neal has also returned to present poplar spin-off show Big Brother: Bit on the Side.
This year the theme is The United Kingdom of Big Brother, and the trailer has hinted that we’ll be seeing all kinds of people from around Britain going in.
The voiceover reads: “From every corner of the land…from have nots to have lots…
“From gamers to game for it… This is the United Kingdom of Big Brother, and everyone is welcome.”
Channel 5 is promising a “must-watch culture clash of modern Britain”.
